Matthew Read Trio play with an extremely wide sonic language encompassing deep grooves, forceful riffs, haunting sonic landscapes and a unified approach to group improvisation.
Formed in 2015, the trio brings together three like-minded approaches to music making, creating an exciting new performance every time they play. Drawing influence from a wide-ranging plethora of bands from Pat Metheny, John Scofield & Paul Motian to Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Abbey Road-era Beatles and many more, MRT bring a fresh edge to the world of the guitar trio.
Matthew Read Trio is Benedict Wood (guitar), Arthur Newell (drums) and Matthew Read (double bass).
